Ryan o’Neal and his child arrested
Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said: “Deputies were doing a routine sweep to make sure Redmond was adhering to his probation. “Upon searching the premises, the younger O’Neal was found in possession of narcotics. Later, a vial of drugs were found in the elder O’Neal’s bedroom. We believe the drugs found were methamphetamines.”
Both men were released after posting $10,000 bail and neither Ryan nor Redmond – whose mother is Farrah Fawcett, 61 - appeared under the influence of drugs, the sheriff said. The 67-year-old ‘Love Story’ actor was arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after firing a gunshot during an argument with another son, Griffin, 43.
Ryan first became famous on the soap opera Peyton Place. His role in 'Love Story' gained him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Further starring roles have been the screwball comedy 'What's Up, Doc?', Paper Moon (co-starring his daughter, Oscar-winner Tatum O'Neal), the Stanley Kubrick directed Barry Lyndon, the 'Love Story' sequel, Oliver's Story, and the Walter Hill car chase movie 'The Driver'.
O'Neal has been in a long-term (off and on again) relationship with actress Farrah Fawcett. He also dated Diana Ross for some time. He was previously married to actresses Joanna Moore and Leigh Taylor-Young. He has four children: Tatum O'Neal and Griffin O'Neal, Patrick O'Neal and Redmond O'Neal (with Fawcett).
Ryan’s daughter, Tatum O'Neal, 44, a former child star, pleaded guilty in July to disorderly conduct stemming from a drug arrest in June.

Megan Fox GQ cover girl
Megan Fox knows what side her bread is buttered on and takes total advantage of it. Most young Hollywood starlettes say they don’t want to get typecast as ‘the hot girl’, but Megan knows that is what she can do, and do well. The 22-year-old Transformers hottie didn’t hold back in her interview:
On not wanting to be famous right now: “I’ve done one movie. And it’s not a movie I want to stand on as far as acting ability goes. I mean—I’m not going to win an Oscar anytime soon. I’m not Meryl Streep.” On Disney’s treatment of Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens sickening her: “They take these little girls…teach them how to sing and dance, and make them wear belly shirts, but they won’t allow them to be their own people. It makes me sick. I would never issue an apology for my life and for who I am. It’s like, Oh, I’m sorry I took a naked, private picture that someone … sold for money. … You shouldn’t have to apologize. Someone betrayed Vanessa, but no one’s angry at that person. She had to apologize. I hate Disney for making her do that.” On dealing with anxiety: “Before I go onstage anywhere, I take a Xanax now.” On hating Internet gossip: “The other day, I said I eat a lot of cake, and that was the top story on Yahoo!” On thinking we shouldn’t be such prudes: “Sex is something that everyone does, so why can’t I talk about it?” The magazine's cover features her in thin make-up and crossing her tongue across her upper and lower teeth. "Megan Fox, Says What She Thinks and Does What She Wants," so read the headline that accompanied her picture.
Besides the cover shoot, Fox is also photographed for some other sultry poses inside the magazine. She's seen in one pic wearing white bikini, coming out of what appeared to be a swimming pool. She, moreover, is also photographed posing in pink bikini, having her mouth opens as she plays with ice cube.
Smart girl. What’s wrong with using what ya’ got to get the money? Nothing unless having random, sweaty men and teenage boys using your men’s magazine pictures for things we aren’t allowed to discuss here. Megan also wants all you “fans” to know that although she is on the cover of this month’s Maxim as well, those are old recycled pictures purchased without her cooperation. Read: She isn’t making any money on that mag…go buy GQ.

Mongols Motorcycle Club president blasts police response
The funeral of Mark "Papa" Guardado, the 46-year-old president of the San Francisco chapter shot down after a barroom brawl, brought about 2,000 Hells Angels to Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City, most driving the biggest, baddest, loudest Harleys ever.
They came Monday from chapters all over the country, not to mention Stuttgart, Germany; Alberta, Canada; and Melbourne, Australia.
An overflow crowd of hundreds of members sat or stood in the funeral home parking lot for two hours, creating a spectacle that attracted hundreds of gawkers and police from three cities.
Police were out in force last week, cracking down on what they called an "outlaw biker gang" that passed through Temecula on its way to a weekend gathering in San Diego County.
But if the Mongols Motorcycle Club is any indication, bikers are working on their image. The Mongols' president, 51-year-old Ruben "Doc" Cavazos, has a New York publicist and a new memoir about his life as a Mongol.
Cavazos said Wednesday that police in Riverside and San Diego counties harassed the group without provocation, stopping Mongols on motorcycles and searching their RVs for contraband.
"I think that the motorcycle clubs are truly the last group that you can violate their rights and nobody says anything," Cavazos said. "They stepped all over us this weekend."
The Mongols Motorcycle Club, shortened to "Mongols MC" is a motorcycle gang headquartered in southern California that was originally formed in Montebello, California in the 1970s. Law enforcement officials estimate there are approximately 350 members. In addition to their presence in southern California, the club claims chapters in Nevada, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona, Montana, Oregon, New York, Indiana, Florida, Virginia, Canada, and Mexico. Norwegian mainstream news also reports that the Mongols have spread to Scandinavia, April 2008. The Mongols Motorcycle Club states on their website that they have a chapter in Italy.

AIG annuity
Monday, September 15, 2008AIG is one of the largest international insurance and financial services organizations in the world, with operations in more than 130 countries and jurisdictions. AIG member companies serve commercial, institutional and individual customers through the most extensive worldwide property-casualty and life insurance networks of any insurer. In the United States, AIG companies are the largest underwriters of commercial and industrial insurance and AIG American General is a top-ranked life insurer.
IF it were actually to play out that an insurer went instantaneously from A+(Best), AA+ (S&P), Aa2 (Moody's), AA+ (Fitch) to insolvent, go directly to insolvent, do not pass Go, etc. and the result of that was that annuitants were affected in any way beyond seeing a new logo on the monthly payment checks, then someone has some 'splainin' to do and quite frankly I'd like to see it done in a court of law.
Unlike Guaranty Association protection, these ratings darn well are used as an inducement to buy... customarily and universally used as an inducement to buy... as inConsumers absolutely are encouraged to think that the ratings mean something.
Quote: When choosing an income annuity, the financial strength of the insurance company that issues the annuity is very important. You will be relying on the insurance company to make payments over many years.
Vanguard's insurance partners in the Vanguard Lifetime Income Program are AIG Life Insurance Company and, in New York State only, American International Life Assurance Company of New York (collectively, "the AIG Insurers").
With a reputation for stability and integrity built up over decades, the AIG Insurers are highly rated for insurer financial strength from the principal ratings agencies
If you buy a policy from an A+ rated company and the ratings gradually decline over time from A+ to A to A- to B++ to B+ and eventually to C, D, E, and F, that's one thing. That's still a bummer. But if it turns out that a company can actually go from A+ to insolvent instantly, leaving policyholders with actual losses, then the ratings are worthless and the way in which consumers are encouraged to rely on them is deceptive.
I'm not saying the ratings don't actually reflect something valid about the company; I'm saying it's represented that they have some useful predictive value in the situation where, in Vanguard's words, "You will be relying on the insurance company to make payments over many years."
If the ratings have a shelf life shorter than supermarket chicken, then they can't help you decide about whether a company can "make payments over many years."

Louisville gas and electric
Thousands of Kentuckians were still without power Monday morning after high winds swept across the state Sunday.
Kentucky Utilities spokesman Cliff Feltham said 31,000 KU customers across the state don't have power. Most of those people are west of Interstate 65.
Feltham said it could be a day or two before power is restored for all those customers.
About 75,000 KU customers were without power at one point, including 5,000 in Lexington.
Feltham said power has been restored to nearly all Lexington residents.
More than 230,000 Louisville Gas & Electric customers were without power Monday morning, according to LG&E's automated telephone line for outage information.
